  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or sea salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 3 cups chocolate chips use a mix of semisweet and dark for a bakery effect
  • optional extra chocolate chips for topping
  • optional flaky sea salt for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together your flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well until creamy.
  3. Gently fold in your dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Wrap your dough in plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Use a cookie scoop to portion out the dough onto the prepared sheets, optionally topping with extra chocolate chips.
  3. Bake for about 12-14 minutes or until the edges are crispy and the centers still look slightly underbaked.
  4. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. You can reheat them in the oven or microwave.
