Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 1 cup warm milk For activating the yeast

For the Filling
  • 1/3 cup softened butter Spreads easily on the dough
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Adds depth of flavor
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon Essential for classic cinnamon flavor
  • 1/2 cup crushed chocolate cookies For added texture and flavor
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
For the Icing
  • 4 oz cream cheese Should be softened for mixing
  • 1/4 cup softened butter For creaminess
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in sugar, egg, yolk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and salt, mixing together. Gradually add remaining flour until dough forms.
  4. Add blue food coloring and knead until smooth. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Filling & Assembly
  1. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl. Stir in crushed chocolate cookies and mini chocolate chips.
  2. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 14 by 9-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly, then roll tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls.
  3. Place rolls in a greased 9 by 13-inch dish. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  4. Bake rolls for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
Icing
  1. Beat together cream cheese and softened butter until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for a creamy consistency.
Serving
  1. Drizzle icing over warm rolls. Sprinkle with crushed cookies and extra chocolate chips if desired.

These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days or refrigerated for up to a week. For best results, reheat in the oven.
